El Paso County

The El Paso County Parks Department controls:
  • Bear Creek Regional Park
  • Fox Run Regional Park
  • Fountain Creek Regional Park
  • Homestead Ranch Regional Park
  • Palmer Lake Regional Recreation Area
  • New Santa Fe Trail
  • Fountain Creek Trail
  • Black Forest Regional Park
  • Stratmoor Hills Park and Widefield Park
  • and Rock Island Trail

All projects are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Generally a $200 per day special event permit is required. Three to four weeks are preferred for permit processing. Refundable damage / clean up deposits are required.

Proof of insurance is required: $600,000 bodily injury and property damage combined, listing El Paso County as co-insured. The use of vehicles off-road may require additional damage deposits and permit fee, but is generally not permitted.
